Spillways are a critical component of a hydroelectric facility and reliable performance is of utmost importance. Similar to the water passage, spillways can be very large structures, making it challenging to inspect the entire surface at a close distance without installing time consuming support structures, such as scaffolding. High resolution 3D models, on the order of 0.25 mm to 0.75 mm, allow very detailed visual and spatial inspections that can be completed in an office environment and accessed by all parties and inspection specialists.
